As one of the minor authors of the Transhumanist Declaration (1998), I’m very happy to see the inclusion of post-scarcity & decentralized societies here.

I think #5 is integral to the success of all the rest, if we continue the way we are currently going the outcome will not be pleasant. If all of the other points succeed but #5 does not, it will not last long and life on earth will suffer while a small percent of humans will live as gods.

🔘 Life is superior to death.

🔘 Every human is unique and irreplaceable. New births do not justify the death of the living.

🔘 The finite nature of existence is the human tragedy. Death has no justification.

🔘 Immortality is an utmost scientific priority.

🔘 Accelerating progress stems from the political landscape. We must construct a society devoted to preserving human life.

🔘 Rational arguments for radical longevity aren't enough. Transhumanist art could stir emotions and serve the cause.

🔘 The world isn't tailored for immortality. Our participation is required for extended life.

🔘 The challenge of radical life extension boils down to building a transhumanist community.
